Trip Six "Back With A Vengeance"

LP - $15.95
STREET DATE: 8/21/26
CAT#: RADIO-040
LABEL: Radio Raheem

One of our favorite cult classic NYHC bands finally gets the Radio Raheem treatment! Trip 6 formed from the ashes of legendary NYHC enigmas The Psychos, with ex-Psychos Tommy Rat (vocals) and Stu Psycho (guitar) teaming up with ex-Ultra Violence/WarZone drummer Charlie Rage and bassist Zippy. This lineup existed for about a year and managed to turn the crunchy, metal-tinged Psychos set list into one of, if not thee, rawest and and most blown out NYHC release of its time, 1987's "Back With A Vengeance" cassette. The cassette included new versions of nine Psychos classics plus four new cuts.

During their brief existence, Trip 6 also contributed the title track of the demo to Revelation Records' classic "New York City Hardcore – The Way It Is" compilation LP and recorded live sets on WNYU and WFMU radio, the latter of which is presented here on side B. The WFMU set from March 1988 features new drummer R.B. and includes several songs that never made it to the studio proper, as well as some choice banter from the band.

The LP is rounded out with a 12"x36" fold-out insert featuring flyers and photos from Trip 6's scant few live appearances, as well as lyrics and a reproduction of the original demo sleeve.

Brooke Smith "Sunday Matinee" Third Printing

BOOK - $25.65
STREET DATE: 08/21/26
CAT#: RADIO-SM-3
LABEL: Radio Raheem

If the name Brooke Smith is known to the general public, it is from her acting on television shows such as Grey’s Anatomy and Ray Donovan or her role as Catherine Martin in Silence of the Lambs. But prior to all that, Brooke was a participant in the New York Hardcore scene of the 1980s, photographing bands at CBGB’s notorious Sunday afternoon gigs and hanging out on the Lower East Side of Manhattan.

In 2010 when Brooke was moving, a box was unearthed of the photos she’d taken during that heady time in her life. A year later, these pictures were exhibited at the Primary Gallery in New York City under the appropriate title, Sunday Matinee. Soon after the exhibit closed, Smith began combing through the thousands of pictures she had snapped in the hopes of editing them down into a book.

Now, after years of painstaking assembly, the book Sunday Matinee will finally see the light of day through Radio Raheem Records. Made up of live shots of Bad Brains, Agnostic Front, Cro-Mags, Murphy’s Law, and Underdog as well as candid photography of the colorful characters who made up the New York Hardcore scene, Sunday Matinee documents all the thrill and excitement of a Sunday afternoon on the Bowery in the 1980s and gifts it to you from the safety of the present day.

Sunday Matinee contains over 140 images, both color and black & white, spread across 160 pages in a clothbound 11"x11" book. Third printing of 500 copies.

MARKETING POINTS:

  • Photos by Brooke Smith actor from Grey's Anatomy, Ray Donovan and Silence of the Lambs
  • Live shots of Bad Brains, Agnostic Front, Cro-Mags, Murphy’s Law, and Underdog as well as candid photography of the colorful characters who made up the New York Hardcore scene

Bob Barry "Photos by Bob B."

BOOK - $14.00
STREET DATE: 08/21/26
CAT#: RADIO-BOB
LABEL: Radio Raheem

A couple years ago our friends at Generation Records turned up a very cool lost photo album from their friend Robert Barry, a native Long Islander who was taking pictures around various New York City underground music scenes in the later 80s/early 90s. We toyed with a few different ideas on how to use them, and in the end decided to just reproduce everything as-is in a simple fanzine format split between our two labels.

This book is an almost-exact reproduction of the original album, right down to Bob's original clippings attached to the classic 1980s peel-n-stick photo album pages, and captures a candid snapshot (pun fully intended) of an era when the lines between underground music scenes were a lot more blurred — the bands featured run the gambit from the Bad Brains to Mental Abuse to Sonic Youth to rare club show appearances of Red Hot Chili Peppers and Megadeth, and everyone in between. When was the last time you saw Krakdown and Dick Dale featured in the same publication?!

Features approximately 300 photos of 27 bands spread across 80 pages in glorious full color. Each copy comes with an original photo print attached to the front cover. Limited to 300 copies.

MARKETING POINTS:

  • Comes with one of 3 original photo prints on the cover

The Abused "Loud And Clear"

LP - $17.25
STREET DATE: 8/21/26
CAT#: RADIO-003
LABEL: Radio Raheem

What else can we say? Reissuing The Abused "Loud And Clear" EP was one of the main reasons we at Radio Raheem started this label back in 2012. You can take your pick of urban legends as to The Abused's influences: some say the band stole a car with a Minor Threat cassette stuck in the tape deck, and others say they played their Black Sabbath records on 78rpm and tried to emulate what they heard. Either way, "Loud And Clear" is, in our not-so-humble opinion, the total package of early New York Hardcore — some of the best and hardest music combined with some of first-gen hardcore's greatest artwork courtesy of vocalist Kevin Crowley.

Since we're not content to do straight reissues, we expanded the EP out into an LP, adding the band's equally great 12-song demo tape, and a killer live cut of "Police Reign," a song that never made it to the studio. With this new 2026 pressing, have the privilege of adding one more non-studio cut — "Friend Or Foe" — taken from the same excellent quality live set as "Police Reign." If you didn't have the pleasure of hearing "Friend Or Foe" live back in the day or at one of the band's 2000s era reunions, think "Hole In The Sky" by Black Sabbath filtered through NYHC's class of '83. Truly one of the greatest lost NYHC tracks.

We've also updated the original 2013 LP packaging into a standard 2-pocket gatefold sleeve along with a revised 28-page, full-color booklet featuring all of Kevin Crowley's legendary flyers and artwork, meticulously restored from the original pen-and-ink drawings, plus many newly unearthed photos, lost lyrics and flyers not included in the original pressing.

What are you waiting for? Blow your brains out (with this LP)!

Murphy's Law "Bong Blast"

LP - $17.25
STREET DATE: 8/21/26
CAT#: RADIO-039
LABEL: Radio Raheem

In 1983, Murphy's Law issued their first release: a limited edition nine-song cassette entitled "Bong Blast" that captured the band thrashing away live at various CBGB hardcore matinees. These nine tracks are the perfect representation of the band — "thrash, punk, metal and reggae all thrown together in a humorous way" as Maximumrocknroll aptly put it way back in 1983, and which still rings true today. The original lineup represented here included vocalist Jimmy G, guitarist Alex "Uncle Al" Morris, Cro-Mags founder Harley Flanagan on drums, and early Agnostic Front bassist Adam Mucci.

The band's own Creepy Crawl label would later press "Bong Blast" on LP and CD in the mid '90s, but this release went quickly out of print with most copies ending up overseas and these days commands a premium on the collector market. Radio Raheem and Generation Records are proud to bring this release back to life the only way we know how: with lots of extras!

This new vinyl pressing adds five bonus tracks recorded in the summer of 1985 with Jimmy and Uncle Al being joined by drummer Petey Hines and future Underdog bassist Russ Iglay. These tracks were rumored to have been recorded as an EP for BYO Records, but for reasons unknown, only made it out into the world as promo cassettes sent to a handful of fanzines (with the copy used for this release coming from the Flipside archives). The band would later re-record these five tracks for their 1986 debut LP on Profile Records and the rest, as they say, is history. Rounding out the package is a 16-page, 12"x12" full-color booklet featuring the usual goods: many never-before seen photos, flyers, and other bits of forgotten ephemera.

Split release with our friends Generation Records in NYC, available on green vinyl from Radio Raheem and yellow vinyl from Generation.
