Spiritkiller "The World Is Yours And You Can't Refuse It"

LP - $17.25
STREET DATE: 11/20/26
CAT#: PRO-110
LABEL: Protagonist Music

This World Is Yours and You Can’t Refuse It - the second LP from Albany, NY post-hardcore juggernaut Spiritkiller, finds them at their most focused and furious. Over the course of its twelve tracks the band weaves together their many influences into a singular sonic imprint that draws inspiration from the pounding grooves of 90’s hardcore and fuses them with the off kilter and experimental approach of 2000’s post hardcore and early screamo.

These songs radiate a passion, urgency, and authenticity that is unique to Spiritkiller’s take on hardcore music and resonates well beyond the boundaries of genre. As much Snapcase and Refused as it is At The Drive in and Fugazi, This World Is Yours And You Cant Refuse It maintains the band’s signature precision and aggression in songwriting while offering a vibrant and kinetic emotional approach to their presentation.

Both political and deeply personal in its subject matter, the album was written intentionally to serve as a snapshot of ordinary life in times of upheaval, uncertainty and anxiety. The LP is accompanied by a 32-page booklet/photographic essay meant to provide visual context for each track.

For those in search of hardcore that expresses its feelings, pushes boundaries, and still lands as hard as a gut-punch, this is an album that will resonate deeply.

Turn of Phrase "Out in the Water"

CAT#: SDR-170
LABEL: Sunday Drive

Coming out of the London and Brighton hardcore scene just over a year ago, Turn of Phrase have quickly established themselves as one of the UK’s most promising new hardcore bands. Constantly on the DIY touring circuit alongside both friends’ bands and longtime influences, they’ve wasted little time building momentum. In just over a year, they’ve released a demo, two songs on a split 7” with New York City hardcore band Square One, and now return with seven new tracks on their debut 12” EP, “Out in the Water”

Across the EP, Turn of Phrase continue to refine their sound of fast, melodic hardcore, pulling from early-2000s hardcore and ‘90s emo. Lyrically, vocalist Logan Grant explores friendship, love, and the importance of remaining present. His writing reflects on past mistakes, embraces the inevitability of making new ones, and finds meaning in continuing forward despite life’s uncertainty.

“Out in the Water” captures the feeling of drifting through the unknown, surrounded by both emptiness and possibility, and somehow finding the strength to keep moving.
