The Deluxe 2xLP includes 12 bonus tracks, including the lost God City Demos (Remixed by Kurt Ballou), presented with expanded art in a gatefold package.

Before Piebald were known for their anthemic sing-alongs and offbeat charm, there was Venetian Blinds, an evolution from hardcore roots into something uniquely their own with all of their trademark chaos and cleverness.

Originally released in 1999 on Big Wheel Recreation, “If It Weren’t For Venetian Blinds, It Would Be Curtains For Us All’’ brought Piebald’s blend of the sincere and the satirical to the 90’s emo and indie-rock scene

Now, Iodine Recordings proudly presents a deluxe reissue of this quintessential Record. Completely remastered for vinyl by Jack Shirley (Joyce Manor, Quicksand) at The Atomic Garden, and out of print since its original release. This remastered edition features fully updated artwork reconstructed from original source materials and photos, as well as a retrospective commentary written by the band.

Springing from the thriving Merrimack Valley scene that produced Converge and Cave In, Venetian Blinds’ bridged the gap between underground post-hardcore experimentation and the hook-driven songwriting that would soon define an era. Witty, heartfelt, and impossible to categorize, this deluxe reissue celebrates a crucial piece of Piebald’s history.

As part of its ongoing series of definitive reissues, Iodine Recordings proudly presents the 30th Anniversary Deluxe Edition of Quicksand’s Manic Compression—a landmark of post-hardcore innovation and one of the defining albums of the 1990s. More than just a reissue, this edition restores the record’s sound and visual art in full, honoring the band’s enduring influence and the intensity that reshaped heavy music’s trajectory.

In celebration of this milestone, Iodine Recordings are presenting a limited-edition 64-page hardcover book chronicling the release and legacy of this influential album. The book includes a foreword by Walter Schreifels, never-before-seen photographs, original art, rare concert posters, and more from 1994–1995. It also features written tributes from members of Knocked Loose, Coheed and Cambria, New Found Glory, Bane, Orange 9mm, Limp Bizkit, Drug Church, Touché Amoré, P.O.D., Fiddlehead, Glassjaw, H2O, At the Drive-In, and others. Complete with a case-wrapped, soft-touch cover, this definitive companion piece is an essential addition to any fan’s collection.

If Slip announced Quicksand’s arrival, then Manic Compression proved they weren’t just a moment—they were a movement. Released in early 1995 on Island Records, the record built upon the foundation of their debut and expanded it into something sharper, darker, and more dynamic. Its tightly coiled songs fuse hardcore ferocity, metallic heft, and alt-rock melody into a streamlined 12-track assault that perfectly captured the tension of its time.

Opening track “Backward” throws listeners straight into the deep end with slashing guitars and rhythmic precision that set the tone for the album’s relentless pacing. Lead single “Thorn in My Side” finds Quicksand at their most immediate—raw urgency refined into anthemic form, earning heavy rotation on MTV’s 120 Minutes and carving the band’s place in the wider alt-rock landscape of the mid-’90s. Tracks like “Landmine Spring” and “Delusional” balance jagged riffs with space and atmosphere, proving Quicksand’s ability to stretch hardcore into entirely new terrain.

Upon release, Manic Compression peaked at No. 135 on the Billboard 200 and earned the band an invitation to the first-ever Warped Tour—milestones that carried their sound far beyond the hardcore underground and into the broader alternative rock conversation.

Manic Compression remains a testament to Quicksand’s evolution—more concise than Slip but no less visionary. Standing tall alongside the landmark records of its era, its DNA is unmistakably rooted in the New York Hardcore scene that forged its members. The record endures as one of the most influential documents of 1990s post-hardcore, leaving its mark on bands such as Deftones, Cave In, Thrice, and countless others.

Recorded by Walter Schreifels (Gorilla Biscuits, Youth of Today), Tom Capone (Beyond, Bold), Sergio Vega (Deftones, Moondog), and Alan Cage (Beyond, Seaweed), Manic Compression was produced by Wharton Tiers (Sonic Youth, Helmet) and Don Fury (Sick of it All, Agnostic Front)—figures whose fingerprints ground the record in both New York’s underground grit and its rising alternative ascent. Out of print for years, the 30th Anniversary Edition has been remastered for vinyl from the 1995 master tapes by Jack Shirley (Deafheaven, Joyce Manor) at The Atomic Garden. The deluxe gatefold jacket features expanded artwork, meticulously reconstructed from Melinda Beck’s archival sketches, and is available in several limited vinyl variants.

Manic Compression is both a time capsule and a timeless benchmark—restored in full and re-presented for a new generation of listeners.

MILTOWN's debut full-length, TALES OF NEVER LETTING GO, has finally been released. Limited edition "Pitch Black" (513) and "Glacier Blue" (297) vinyl are available now.

Featuring JONAH JENKINS (Only Living Witness), BRIAN McTERNAN (Be Well, Battery, Ashes), MATT SQUIRE (Ashes), JAY CANNAVA, and ROB DULANEY, these sessions were recorded at the legendary Long View Farm Studios (Bad Brains, Quicksand, Killswitch Engage) in December ’97 and January ’98.

The band broke up before the songs were mixed and the master tapes have sat in Southern California warehouses ever since. In 2024, Man Alive Records achieved an exclusive license to release the recordings after almost 30 years. The sessions were then mixed by guitarist BRIAN McTERNAN (Turnstile, Thrice, Angel Du$t) at Salad Days Studio and its packaging designed by TOM BEJGROWICZ (Beastie Boys, Johnny Cash, Snapcase). The album was mastered and cut to lacquers by NICK TOWNSEND (The Hold Steady, Nails, Dr. Dre) and features 13 songs, 10 of which debut here and three re-recordings of songs that appeared on the band's debut EP for Hydra Head Records in 1997.

TALES OF NEVER LETTING GO's packaging includes a full-color jacket, an innersleeve featuring complete lyrics and credits, an insert with the band's photos, ephemera, and master tape imagery from the time of recording the album—all of which have a matte coating to help protect against finger prints.

Feel The Teeth captures a band navigating the tension between exhaustion and revelation, pushing through the haze of disillusionment while still searching for meaning. Lyrically, Feel The Teeth reflects the weight of an era that has shifted in unexpected ways—personally, politically, and socially—capturing the complexities of trying to find clarity in a world that often feels out of control.

Where their 2020 album Short Songs for End Times felt like a direct confrontation with the chaos of a fractured world, Feel The Teeth dwells in the quieter aftermath, the moments of clarity amidst the noise. The album is soaked in existential fatigue—tracks like "Nightsong" and "Diamonds" bring us to the edge of the abyss, questioning the worth of it all, while grappling with the weight of personal and collective history. As Nathan Ellis explains, "Nightsong" is a reflection of how time and trauma warp the body and mind: "I don't sleep very well anymore... now I just have these moments between being awake and my hypnogogic hallucinations."

At its core, Feel The Teeth is about grappling with internal conflict. Songs like "Bell Penny" take on self-preservation versus empathy, while "Echolalia" offers a sobering realization of the passing of time: “A song about middle age enlightenment. Realizing that I spent so many years wanting, when all I needed were the moments I had.”

Throughout the record, teeth become a symbol—of the things we try to bury, of pain that refuses to be ignored, and of the subtle violence of everyday survival. Tracks like "Snake Dreams" and "Nothing Certain" explore anxiety and transformation, challenging the listener to not just endure, but to shed old skins and confront what’s lurking underneath.

If Short Songs for End Times was a roaring statement of survival, Feel The Teeth is the moment after—a quieter, more introspective reckoning with what it means to still be here, still searching for meaning, still hoping for something better even when we’re not sure what it looks like anymore. In an age where comfort is a fleeting illusion and the answers remain out of reach, Feel The Teeth is the sound of a band refusing to give up, refusing to let go.

“Life in Parallel”, the fourth LP from Hundreds of AU, examines the hopelessness of modern life set to a soundtrack that encompasses both soaring melody and incoherent chaos. With a perspective bleeding with adulthood, but giving space to the coming of age experience in New Jersey, “Life in Parallel" weaves a narrative arc that reflects on middle age through the lens of a New Jersey coming-of-age—blending sharp social commentary with deeply personal storytelling. The album explores political unrest, the weight of loss, the hope found in parenthood, and the emotional complexity of growing older in a world that’s left us behind.”

This album premiers vocalist Brian (Lesser Minds) and bassist Buzz (Pellinore/The Banner), the two adding their own flavor and dimension to the bands pre-established brand of hardcore, screamo and punk. The band is graced with guest appearances by Geoff Rickley (Thursday/United Nations), Jon Tumillo (Folly), Rickly Slauson (Sonagi/Closer) and Adam Kaniper (Stress Spells), cementing a deeper texture of friendship and experience into the canvas of the songs.

Tracked by Joe Egan at Missile Silo Studios and mixed/mastered by John Howard at Warhouse Studios, the album channels sonic urgency and emotional weight—capturing the desperation, immediacy, and raw honesty woven throughout all ten songs.

Brought to you by the team at Iodine Recordings, we hope you can connect with “Life in Parallel” in a way that lets you know you’re not alone out there, that it’s okay to feel hopeless sometimes, and most of all, we can lift each other up with our expression of empathy.

The Dogs of Hope is a powerful new compilation from Iodine Recordings and Tom Bejgrowicz, created to raise critical funds for the Randolph County Animal Shelter in rural Alabama—a no-kill, privately run facility that’s saved thousands of animal lives despite operating without public funding or county support.

Featuring new or previously unreleased music from a genre-defining lineup—Killswitch Engage, Deadguy, Snapcase, Orange 9mm, and more—The Dogs of Hope unites heavyweights from across the hardcore and punk scenes in support of an urgent cause. Of the 14 tracks, 13 are exclusive to this release, with one previously available only in Japan. Many were created specifically for this project, underscoring the deep ties between independent music and community care.

Spearheaded and designed by longtime industry veteran Tom Bejgrowicz, whose diverse background includes A&R, marketing, and design work for Quicksand, The Beastie Boys and Johnny Cash and more, the project is co-produced by Iodine Recordings mastered by Jack Shirley (Deafheaven, Quicksand, Joyce Manor), with cover art by Jeremy Dean (Green Day, The Rolling Stones, The Bronx).

100% of net profits from physical and digital sales go directly to the Randolph County Animal Shelter in Wedowee, AL, where a small team faces overwhelming need every day in a region with no public animal control or spay/neuter programs. The shelter has operated at full capacity since 2021—and continues to do life-saving work against long odds.

“This isn’t about changing the whole world,” says Bejgrowicz, who began volunteering at RCAS in 2020. “It’s about changing a world—one animal at a time.”

The Dogs of Hope is a bold reminder that music can do more than inspire—it can save lives.

While many hardcore bands focus their fury outward, Drought turns inward—channeling personal struggle to chart a different path. Formed in 2022, the Bay Area band—guitarists Eric Nakano and RJ Rabe, drummer Ray Avila, and vocalist Viggy Ram—found common ground in shared influences like Pianos Become the Teeth, mewithoutYou, and Title Fight to overcome personal hardships and isolation. After recording a three-song EP in 2022, Drought brought their emotionally charged live shows to stages alongside Jeromes Dream and vs self before catching the attention of Iodine Recordings.

Now, Drought returns with Souvenir, recorded to tape by Jack Shirley (Deafheaven, Gouge Away) at Atomic Garden Studios. The result? Souvenir sounds less like a debut and more like an established act. These thirteen songs channel moods and emotion with conviction, shaped by years of perspective. Guest vocals from Patrick Flynn (Fiddlehead/Have Heart), Eric Butler (Mom Jeans), and Alex Rudenshiold (Infant Island) lend further weight to Souvenir, weaving with the band’s dynamic arrangements and situating the record firmly in the evolving world of post-hardcore and emo. Against a background of balanced melody and dissonance, Viggy Ram’s lyricism is as introspective as it is existential, as he sings on the first single ‘We’re the Flora’: “They say all flowers in time bend toward the sun, so when I find the light, what will I become?”

Souvenir arrives July 2025 via Iodine Recordings.

As The Sun Sets formed in Providence, Rhode Island in 1998 and quickly became a household name throughout New England as they developed their brand of brutal and chaotic music. Well known for their live performances, As The Sun Sets were a spectacle, and often dangerous, act to witness live, which would ultimately be what they were most remembered for. They delivered blistering and abrasive metallic hardcore that incorporated elements of noise, grindcore, metal, and math rock.

Although short lived, As The Sun Sets recorded three records from 1999-2002 before breaking up. The records were known not only for their short, technical, and heavy songs, but also their interludes which included piano tracks, atmospheric drone, and experimental noise, all of which stitched the album into a unique and diverse listening experience that broke up the harshness of their music. The band toured throughout the East Coast and Midwest and shared the stage with many notable acts such as: Converge, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Mastodon, American Nightmare, Pig Destroyer, and Hatebreed. Though their career as a band was brief, their music would eventually become highly influential in the heavy music scene.

All tracks were remixed by Kurt Ballou (Converge, God City) and remastered by producer Jack Shirley (Deafheaven, Amenra). Now with all new artwork, As The Sun Sets’ complete recorded works will be available for the first time on vinyl.

The long awaited sophomore LP from Boston’s Bloodhorse. Featuring members of: American Nightmare, The Red Chord, and All Pigs Must Die

‘A Malign Star’ is a reckoning—a raw, relentless journey through doubt, defiance, and the eerie spaces in between. From crushing riffs that pay tribute to self-destruction to compositions steeped in imperial dread, each track carves out its own space in the chaos. There's a biting critique of pettiness and alienation, an eerie drift through half-waking nightmares, and a full-throttle push to the brink of speed and control. If you like it fast, dark, and just a little self-aware of its own doom, you’re in the right place.

"Bloodhorse might be the best kept secret in the world of post-metal/stoner-rock (with a touch of hardcore/punk). Their execution as a beast of a three piece is downright awe-inspiring. Massive riffs, clean songwriting, and perfectly balanced instrumentation. Absolutely essential for fans of the genre.” - Lambgoat

In the late 90s, no one carried the torch for Youth Crew hardcore like Fastbreak. Formed in 1994, the Connecticut band quickly made a name for themselves in the New England area, thanks to their explosive approach to fast-paced hardcore music and unrelenting positivity. Their sound was a true successor to the upbeat style of bands like Gorilla Biscuits and Youth of Today. Their energy made them a staple in Connecticut hardcore, as they became a fixture playing alongside bands like H2O, Bane, Ten Yard Fight, Right Brigade, and more.

Despite their significant impact on the hardcore scene, Fastbreak's recordings had long been out of print and unavailable on streaming services. This is why Iodine Records is proud to re-release Fastbreak’s seminal debut album, Fast Cars, Fast Women. Originally released in 1998, every idea, riff, and rhythm on the record feels as fresh as ever. Songs like “Said and Done” and “Places Trades” are bursting with pure exuberance and energy. In a time when bands were getting darker and gloomier, Fastbreak was a breath of fresh air, bringing a more inviting energy to the genre. Fastbreak’s ideas were extremely ahead of their time, predicting the future fusion of hardcore and pop-punk that would go on to take over the world. Their influence can be heard in countless bands that followed, blending the raw energy of hardcore with the immediacy of a positive attitude and approach. It’s a painfully underrated record, but thankfully, listeners now have a chance to realize just what was going on.

Fastbreak’s Fast Cars, Fast Women features Patrick Rorick on vocals, Steven Pica and Neal St. Clair on guitar, Don Raymond on bass, and Luke Garro on drums. The album was produced by Dean Baltulonis and mastered at Metropolis Studios.

Seattle’s Dead Bars, in the words of Razorcake,“make something impossible to duplicate look so simple and attainable.” For over a decade the band, founded and led by John Maiello, have been belting out life-affirming hard rock with the same gift for thecraft as acts like Japandroids, White Reaper, and Fucked Up. Since then, they’ve earned both national accolades and a reputation as a local institution, the band you’re likely to see sweating it up onstage any given night.Their newest record, All Dead Bars Go To Heaven, reminds us that there’s “arguably no better Seattle band,” according toThe Seattle Times. Its ten hook-laden heavy hitters, from rousing opener “Ghost” to anthemic closer “Be Me” comprise a new chapter: a reintroduction to a new generation ready to escape the grind, as well as a reminder to the previous one of their potency. The emphasis is on heaven: a place of eternal reward for a life lived virtuously, regardless of the love or loss that once defined it. When the band cries “Dead Bars Forever,” they mean it.

Our World Is Going To Disappear is the debut EP from the Brooklyn, NY trio Memory Entry. The band began in early 2020 when the three original members got together for an impromptu jam session. They carved out the beginning of what would become the song “Crawler” and parted ways, not realizing they wouldn’t step foot into the practice space again for another 19 months due to the world wide pandemic.

“We slowly began piecing together songs, pulling from our collective screamo, emo, and hardcore roots” said vocalist and guitarist Keith M. “It was a very slow process, as we were all busy with other bands and creative endeavors. We couldn’t decide on a name or a direction and that only slowed things down further.” Fast forward to summer of 2023: “I kept having these recurring dreams every night. They seemed so real. The same places; the same people; some familiar and some new. I was thinking a lot about the past, mistakes I had made and opportunities I had squandered. I wondered if all of my best days were behind me. Concurrently with the dreams, I was inspired by several pieces of art I was taking in at the time that coincided with what I had been experiencing at night and this opened up the idea of the dream world. It felt like there was work to be done - but it couldn’t all be done in our physical world. There was more to discover in this other world.”

It was then that Memory Entry settled on a name and the EP came together quickly after. The story of “Our World Is Going To Disappear” is the story of the band. Starting out simply and lamenting everyday heartbreak, but then slowly awakening, expanding our sonic palette, experimenting with different sounds and vocalizations, finding our identity, getting to know each other and realizing that there’s much more out there to discover, in this world, or another world. The final result is a sonic journey into parts unknown - combining elements of hardcore, noisecore, post hardcore and classic screamo. Aggressive but not without moments of melody and beauty, Memory Entry are set to take their place in the world of aggressive music with the release of “Our World Is Going To Disappear.”

Gregor Samsa are a Post-Rock band that began in Richmond, VA in early 2000. The band made a big impact on the genre through their use of haunting co-ed vocals and expansive dark melodies. Gregor Samsa are masters at building tension in their music through use of atmospheric minimalism that slowly climbs to a crescendo of layered instruments and noise. Their sound is perfectly woven into songs that are beautiful and powerful.

The band came up alongside artists like Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Explosions In The Sky, and ISIS, the later two having done tours with Gregor Samsa. They would later prove to be a hugely influential band in the genre with numerous US and European Tours in the early 00s. They released two Eps on Iodine Recordings, which were denoted by only their time signatures (18:06 and 27:36), and two full lengths on The Kora Records (55:12 and REST). They also notably released a split EP with Los Angeles’ Red Sparowes on Robotic Empire Records. The band eventually migrated to Brooklyn, NY where they became somewhat of a collective organization with building a cohort of over a dozen musicians, including several members of the avant-garde metal band Kayo Dot.

On vinyl for the first time in over 23 years, 40:13.5 features Gregor Samsa’s first 2 EPs. Completely remastered by Jack Shirley (Deafheaven, King Woman) with updated artwork.

"Gregor Samsa features many of the stronger characteristics of vocal post-rock: hushed beauty, dark, dense melodies, and soft, co-ed vocals. They excel at building tension through a use of negative space.” - Pitchfork
