Four friends from Ontario, Canada formed emo post-rock band New Design in 2008.

Drawing inspiration from American Football, Moneen, Moving Mountains, and Toe, New Design blends the atmosphere and emotion of their respective genres to bring listeners dynamic soundscapes, memorable melodies, and heartfelt lyrics.

New Design released their first album "Far From Home" in 2015. From San Diego California Sledges is a four piece Alt-metal/Heavy-shoegaze band that blends genres like Grunge, Metal, Shoegaze, Emo/Post-Hardcore, and alternative to craft songs with catchy hooks and big riffs. The band's goal is to create emotional/ heavy songs that you can sing along to. Sledges is Philly Gomez (vocals and guitar), Alex Angulo (bass), Julian Romero (guitar), Mason Haidar (drums) Sledges’ origin starts in mid 2020 taking place in the area of Chula Vista California. From the boredom and freetime during the pandemic Sledges started as a three piece and wasted no time writing original material. During 2020 Sledges recorded and released their first single “Melting Lives” which helped them start playing shows in San Diego and grow a local fan base. The group recorded and released more singles throughout 2021-2023 and added a fourth member to play lead guitar. Some notable singles during that time include “Headwinds” (2022) and “Disgusting” (2023).

In mid 2023 Sledges began to record their EP Losing Pace with Mike Kamoo who engineered, mixed and mastered it at Earthling Studios. Losing pace is a four track EP that is catchy and ambitious yet heavy. The group took inspiration from bands like The Smashing Pumpkins, Nothing, Sunny Day Real Estate, and Hum with its heavy but lush wall of guitars while adding their own flavor. Sledges experimented with acoustic guitars, melodic choruses, drum samples and My Bloody Valentine-esque leads. The group wanted to simply write strong songs that can stand on their own. Singer/songwriter Philly Gomez says Losing Pace is about a period when he felt broken from the struggles of balancing life and in the process realizing you are falling apart. With heartfelt lyrics and contagious riffs, Losing Pace was released on May 2nd 2024. With great reception the EP led the band to get signed by the label Quiet Panic and open for larger bands like From Autumn to Ashes, and Ringo Deathstarr.

While many hardcore bands focus their fury outward, Drought turns inward—channeling personal struggle to chart a different path. Formed in 2022, the Bay Area band—guitarists Eric Nakano and RJ Rabe, drummer Ray Avila, and vocalist Viggy Ram—found common ground in shared influences like Pianos Become the Teeth, mewithoutYou, and Title Fight to overcome personal hardships and isolation. After recording a three-song EP in 2022, Drought brought their emotionally charged live shows to stages alongside Jeromes Dream and vs self before catching the attention of Iodine Recordings.

Now, Drought returns with Souvenir, recorded to tape by Jack Shirley (Deafheaven, Gouge Away) at Atomic Garden Studios. The result? Souvenir sounds less like a debut and more like an established act. These thirteen songs channel moods and emotion with conviction, shaped by years of perspective. Guest vocals from Patrick Flynn (Fiddlehead/Have Heart), Eric Butler (Mom Jeans), and Alex Rudenshiold (Infant Island) lend further weight to Souvenir, weaving with the band’s dynamic arrangements and situating the record firmly in the evolving world of post-hardcore and emo. Against a background of balanced melody and dissonance, Viggy Ram’s lyricism is as introspective as it is existential, as he sings on the first single ‘We’re the Flora’: “They say all flowers in time bend toward the sun, so when I find the light, what will I become?”

Starling "Forgive Me,"

Confusion, frustration, love and loss are all expressed throughout the first album, “Forgive Me,” from Los Angeles alternative band, Starling. Written over the course of about a year, the LA band recorded themselves in various sheds, apartments, and garages. The record was mixed by drummer, Erik Sathrum Johnson, artwork was shot by the band and their friends, and then mastered by Greg Obis (MJ Lenderman, Wishy, Duster).

Songs like “Quiet” start off with a slow and delicate melody, and then explode in sound halfway through. The guitars in the song were recorded in the middle of summer in a garage with no AC—a physically intense, almost spiritual experience that bleeds into the recording. The lead single, “I Can Be Convinced” is a sad and yearning song, with a need to be still; yet ironically, it’s one of the most upbeat songs on the record.

The album closes with the nearly seven-minute “Keep It” a track Starling had been performing since early 2024. Lyrically charged with frustration, it builds tension through eerie, hushed verses that give way to a loud, distorted chorus—showcasing the band’s ability to channel emotion through dynamic contrast.

With “Forgive Me,” Starling has crafted a deeply personal and fully DIY record, shaping every sonic detail themselves. The result is an album where every melody, rhythm, and raw feeling is intentionally placed and unmistakably theirs.

Described by BrooklynVegan as "a raw-yet-beautiful dose of screamo," Joliette has been an unstoppable force in the Mexican scene since 2011.

On the upcoming new album, “Pérdidas Variables,” the band's debut for Persistent Vision, the quartet takes the urgency of scene heroes like Saetia and Raein and laces it with the brooding, post-metal grandeur of Neurosis or Cult of Luna. While some bands in the genre use sloppiness as their medium, wielding chaos to convey emotional fragility, Joliette moves as steadily as a freight train.

The rhythm section of Hugo Madrid and Matías Acuña bangs and growls in perfect, propulsive unity, while the guitars of Gastón Prado and Juan Pablo Castillo combine into apocalyptic storm clouds of sound. Screaming in his native Spanish, Gastón Prado's earnest voice transcends language barriers. Loud in the mix, his raspy pleas demands attention as they transmit universal angst.

“Pérdidas Variables” is an album inspired by Joliette's hometown. "It’s a meditation on Mexico City," states Juan Pablo Castillo, "as both a physical space and a psychological one, a place constantly shifting under your feet, full of layers, ruins, and noise. The lyrics are rooted in very real fears, earthquakes, collapse, systems failing, but they’re also about the quiet, daily sense of disconnection and mourning that urban life can bring. Each song looks at a different fragment of that experience."

“Pérdidas Variables” was recorded by Matías Acuña and Fernando G. Esteve, mixed by Hugo Madrid, and mastered by Paolo Riffo. The LP comes packaged in full color jacket with limited vinyl options.

Brooklyn-based heavy rock and rollers Cash Bribe are releasing their third EP "Demonomics" on Futureless Records. This EP is their first with Futureless, and displays a band that is louder, tighter, and more pissed off.

“Demonomics” is the follow-up to 2023’s “Escape From New York”, which was released on Fanxdangxo Records. This new EP boasts songwriting that is more refined while also honing a more savage attack, complimented by ripping production courtesy of Zach Miller (ex-Gel) at Landmine Studios in Ewing, NJ – where hardcore acts like Gel, Year of the Knife, and 25 Ta Life have also recorded.

On “Demonomics”, Cash Bribe upgrade their arsenal for waging sonic war, with songs like the title track and ‘Faith Aversion’ incorporating meaner metallic riffs into the attack – going heavier while continuing to channel the influence of mid-period Black Flag and the noisy heavy hardcore of bands like Cursed and Blacklisted. The band also tries new things, like the low-tuned fuck-off rock’n’roll of ‘Bay of Pigs.’

Lyrically, “Demonomics” focuses on the unjust weight the billionaire class holds on our lives, and the ways and methods used by those who imagine themselves to be our ‘betters’ in keeping regular people distracted and mollified.

Cash Bribe was formed in Brooklyn in 2019, with an early lineup of the band recording and releasing its debut EP "Facemask City" in January 2022. Indifferent Engine is a post-hardcore punk band from Cambridge, UK, known for their genre-defying sound and visceral live performances. Stress Positions is a band from Chicago, IL. The band has three members from the now-defunct C.H.E.W. with the addition of vocalist Stephanie Brooks. The band formed in 2020 and plays forward-looking classic American hardcore punk. A debut EP, Walang Hiya, was released in May of 2021 on Open Palm tapes and released on vinyl by Iron Lung Records in September 2023. The band’s first LP, Harsh Reality, followed that up in December of the same year on Three One G Records.

The band's upcoming release, Human Zoo, will be released on Three One G in the Spring of 2025, and features remixes from Planet B and Made by Human Hands. As always, Stress Positions remains anti-colonialist and anti-capitalist, amongst the many other things that fall into these frameworks. Topics addressed on this release include draconian abortion laws, washed up comedians who can’t cope with a changing world, the longlasting effects of Western colonialism, the Israeli genocide, subjugation and occupation of the Palestinian people and their lands, Right Wing military indoctrination, and being a person of color in a white-dominated subculture.

Human Zoo EP was recorded by Matt Russell (REZN, OOZING WOUND, C.H.E.W., BIG LAUGH) at Altered States Studio in Chicago, March 2024. Mastered by James Plotkin (VOIVOD, KHANATE, FULL OF HELL, TRIAC, BACKSLIDER). Human Zoo will be released digitally as well as on limited edition color vinyl.

Jeromes Dream is a hardcore band based in San Francisco, sharing a history with bands like Orchid, Saetia, Reversal of Man, and pageninetynine. After existing between 1997 and 2001, then reforming in 2018, JD will release their third full-length, The Gray In Between in 2023. The album introduces Sean Leary (Loma Prieta) on guitar and was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Jack Shirley (Deafheaven, Quicksand, Joyce Manor).

The Gray In Between is a raw, unapologetically blistering, yet beautiful execution of hardcore that demonstrates a honed precession in songwriting, lyrical content, and boundless passion. This album is quite possibly the band’s best, most powerful, and most realized work to date.

Saetia "Tendrils"

Saetia was formed in 1997 in New York City and only existed until 1999. During two decades of inactivity, the band's music took on a life of its own, cultivating a large international fanbase and is broadly acknowledged as massively influential in the DIY emo hardcore universe.

In 2016, the band released a double album discography titled ‘Collected’ via Secret Voice records. This project reignited the band's interest in playing music, and 6 years later, in November of 2022, the band played 5 sold out shows in NYC and Philadelphia. The response was overwhelming, and the shows raised money for local charities defending trans rights and protecting abortion access. Over the following two years, the band continued to play shows throughout the U.S., Canada, England and have raised over $67K for various organizations and charities.

In 2025 the band will release the EP, Tendrils. This will be the first new music they've created since 1999. They will also travel to South America and Europe.

Ostraca "Eventualities"

For over a decade now, Richmond titans Ostraca have written works definitive of screamo as a punk subgenre. Their catalogue is deceptive in its relative brevity; Ostraca’s habit of offering songs in groups of three and six gives each track a specific and undeniable gravity. Of course, this is no steadfast rule; for Ostraca, the distinction between EP and LP is immaterial, much the way Loma Prieta contended two decades ago. In 2017, they released two songs on Yarrow, a split with Coma Regalia, Vril, and Untold Want, one of which has been re-recorded for "Eventualities".

After taking five years between "Enemy" in 2018, and "Disaster" in 2023, the trio of bassist Gus Caldwell, guitarist Brian Russo, and drummer John Crogan showed that Ostraca is an unflappable mainstay in the world of emotive post-hardcore that they inhabit. The drama and passion expected of Ostraca’s work is only magnified by the dynamic shifts in their writing, earmarked by the inclusion of other genres in their style, like crust, metal, and post-rock. Their aptitude for this demarcates them from the entirety of their peers. Ostraca builds on the same tradition as German greats June Paik, creating heart-wrenching atmospheres driven by melodies that oscillate between resolution and discordance.

"Eventualities" was recorded in 2024 and was engineered, mixed and mastered by Danny Gibney, who the band worked with on Disaster. Comes packaged in a matte, full color jacket with insert and limited colored vinyl.

25 years after the formation of Forlì, Italy’s legendary La Quiete, Persistent Vision are proud to reissue their full length album, 2004’s "La Fine Non è La Fine". Widely considered the most influential band of the European screamo movement, La Quiete plays, and indeed helped generate every stylistic component of the genre that has since been copied and reimagined by countless bands around the world. The dissonant guitar chords strummed at breakneck speed, panic attack vocals, blast beats and tuplet rhythms counterbalanced by dulcet, undistorted melodies are all represented in earnest on this towering LP.

Far from La Quiete’s sole release, "La Fine Non è La Fine" is the quintet’s only full length album amongst a slew of splits with other familiar names like Louise Cyphre, Phoenix Bodies, and The Apoplexy Twist Orchestra, as well as compilation appearances, and loose singles. Out of print for nearly 20 years, the iconic record was originally recorded in 2003, and previously released in small pressings on Heroine Records, React With Protest, and Gasping For Breath Records.

"La Fine Non è La Fine" was remastered in December 2024 by Will Killingsworth. Persistent Vision presents the vinyl reissue in a gatefold jacket and limited colored vinyl, along with limited CD and cassette versions. An essential for any devotee of the genre, this long celebrated record has already been a long sought after piece of punk history.
